Brendin is originally from Hastings, Minnesota—a small, music-filled town where he grew up singing and developing a deep connection to nature. He earned his degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where he also double-minored in Environmental Science and Wildlife Care and Handling.
Brendin has hands-on experience working in wildlife rehabilitation with a range of animals including hundreds of opossums, squirrels, raccoons, mice, and bunnies. One of his most memorable experiences was sedating a wolf to place a heart monitor and draw blood—an unforgettable moment that reflects his passion for wildlife care.
Currently, he is a Veterinary Technician here at Shamrock Animal Hospital, where you can usually find him drawing blood, placing IV catheters, or in the surgery room monitoring. Brendin is exploring the field to determine whether his path will lead to becoming a wildlife veterinarian or pursuing a career in animal law, but for now, he is focused on gaining as much hands-on experience as possible. Either way, his goal is to advocate for animals and protect the natural world.
Fun fact: Alongside his science background, Brendin is a vocalist and finds music to be a grounding part of his life.
