Appointments
We prefer that our clients call ahead to make appointments. This allows us to serve everyone as quickly and efficiently as possible. Typically, appointments are available on the same day for most vaccination and non-routine exams.
-
Emergencies
We accept emergencies at any time during our normal business hours and we will see your pet as quickly as possible. In the event of an emergency, we ask that you call ahead to let us know you are coming. This allows us to prepare for your arrival and provide the best care as quickly as possible. If you have a medical emergency after-hours, please contact the closest emergency clinic. The two emergency clinics nearest Shamrock are: AEVS Golden Valley, South Metro Animal Emergency Clinic.
-
Safety
At Shamrock we ask that all our furry friends are brought in carriers or on leashes. While we understand that many cats, in particular, are not fond of their carriers, we ask this for their own personal safety. Unfortunately, not all of our animal companions get along with one another, and keeping them safe and healthy is our primary concern.
-
Vaccination policy
At Shamrock Animal Hospital, vaccinations are given by a licensed veterinarian in conjunction with an exam. If your pet is determined to be ill or have other complications at the time of vaccination, we may recommend that the vaccines be given at another time so that any health issues may be addressed first. The Bordatella ("kennel cough") vaccine that is required by most kennels can be administered by a Certified Veterinary Technician, and does not require an exam.
-
Medications
In order to dispense medications for your animal companion, we are required by state law to have a current doctor/client relationship. This means that a doctor at our clinic must see your pet for an exam at least once in the past 12 months. In addition, certain medications may require more frequent recheck exams or blood work. Please call if you have any questions regarding your situation.
-
Payment
We require payment for all fees and medications at the time of appointment. We accept cash, checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and CareCredit. CareCredit applications may be completed at the time of your visit.
